What is Ayurveda and why is it more important now than ever?
Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing modalities. Built upon traditional wisdom and science from India, based truly in living in harmony with nature.
Ayurveda holds the belief that health and wellness depends on a delicate balance of the individualized mind, body and spirit composition (dosha).
The main goal of Ayurveda is to promote good health rather than fight dis-ease.
Everything in the universe is connected. If your mind, body and spirit are in good harmony with the universe, you are in good health.
Ayurveda treats the patient as a whole. It looks at all aspects of the person from the time of creation - to where they have developed imbalances in the present moment.
In Ayurveda, we treat the root cause before there is any diversification or manifestation into dis-ease.
We understand in Ayurveda that the foundation of good physical health resides in the belly (digestion), our energetic alignment, and remembering our true nature as Spirit.
We achieve this through three pillars of health
Proper sleep
Proper digestion
Proper management of desire.
All health can be summarized by the basic understanding that:
🌟 Food is thy medicine.
The bounty of health comes from our harvest.
🌟 Our mind precedes our body.
We aim to balance our sensory impressions, thoughts and expressions.
🌟 We remember our true nature as Spirit and detach from ego and duality.
In what we call Western Medicine, people are treated once a symptom is exacerbated and presenting as disease.
In truth, Western Medicine is not preemptive or preventative medicine or based in wellness.
On all accounts, it is based in sickness.
Now there is absolutely a place for Western Medicine. For acute care, surgical intervention, specialty cases, etc - but when discussing general health and wellness - it is not your primary option.
I believe that in the next few years, we will see many people move away from our current medical system, which on all accounts is broken and collapsing before our eyes already.
I believe we will move away from the pharmaceutical industry entirely which is profit-based much more than health-based, and we will choose alternatives in nature that the Divine Mother Earth, has so generously provided for us for thousands of years.
We will look at each person as an individual expression - rather than a broad group collective which is the viewpoint in Western Medicine.
So this discussion could go on for hours, but in a nutshell, that is Ayurveda.
Ayurveda, along with breathwork, is what I am focusing my energy on. Aligning myself with the power of the Universe for longevity and perfect health.
Will you join me?
Everything is right for someone. Nothing is right for everyone.
Ayurveda is the wisdom and the knowledge to understand what is right for you.
