For many years I have believed in the power of intention.
The first time I remember putting this practice into action was when I was 19 years old.
At that time I called it creative visualization. I remember wishing for a specific desired outcome and believing so strongly in it that something shifted within me.
I believed in the potential of this technique. I believed in my intention so strongly that in that moment - I had what I would consider a spiritual experience.
At that time, I don’t know if I would have recognized it as a spiritual experience - but I do recall it feeling almost like an out of body experience. That my faith and belief alone, shifted something deep inside of me and aligned or connected me to a higher power.
This, obviously, is the way I live my life now. It’s funny to look back and see how the power of intention has manifested miracles in my life.
I remember about 10 years ago (long before Calgary or Transformational Breath®️) setting the intention for my work:
I work with an amazing group of like minded professionals offering service.
I work with a leading global organization teaching and helping others to heal.
I am surrounded by good people, good music and dogs.
It’s amazing when you have these visions of what you desire, and thinking maybe there is no way it could actually fit together… and yet it all does, perfectly.
Not through forcing or controlling or making it happen, but by allowing it and flowing in the uncertainty and waiting for everything to align.
I reached out to Health Upwardly Mobile (HUM) last March, on the recommendation of a colleague. HUM is an amazing organization focusing on addiction support, chronic pain, and mental wellness. that was interested in energy work and breathwork.
To my delight, they replied to my email and invited me to meet with them.
They were accepting of me.
I could not have planned this. This was divine guidance.
God literally placed me here - in this amazing space with this team of amazing people who are spectacular in their individual fields offering service as Physicians, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Psychologists and Naturopathic Medicine.
Being able to be in this space and offer energy work, breathwork, meditation, yoga and now Ayurveda is honestly a dream come true.
I went into work last week and there was a new puppy there named Zeus.
Zeus is a little three month old Shih Tzu. He is part of the HUM team. This little dog joins Milly, our sassy little Yorkie, as our second Therapy Dog at HUM.
Their only job is to love and be loved by staff and patients. What an amazing job!
That’s kind of my job too.
That’s what I aspire for anyway….
Love unconditionally.
Serve unconditionally.
Remember unconditionally.
So as I write this letter in my amazing office with the puppies (and a mountain view ⛰ ) at HUM, and I make my awesome playlist for tonight’s online Transformational Breath®️ group - life is pretty great.
There you have it.
All my intentions, wrapped up into one little God given gift.
